Hail Lord Hamilton

We lured Hamilton, hair and make-up artist away from his brushes ‘n’ powder on the Idol shoot on Sat to probe him about a few things. Whenever we bump into him at parties he’s metamorphosed into a completely new character, he’s definitely difficult to discern, in a very humouring way. We would describe him as dashing with a dryer then gin sense of humour, a creative talent who has worked with Dita Von Teese, Agyness Deyn and Lily Cole! He’s a very playful person and it’s hard to get him to stay anywhere at one time and it’s thanks to his assistant Bunny that we are able to tease some tit-bits in between creating boobs out of stick on moustaches. During the shoot it’s fitting he’s wearing a black tee with the words OCD, on the front ‘cos we’d call him an Oh-so Charming Dandy!

What’s the best thing about your job?

That I can be constantly creative, every-day’s a new day. Also the travel - according to Facebook I have been to 152 cities and 38 different countries.

What’s your favourite place in the world?

There are two places that I have been on shoots that were memorable, one was very hot and the other freezing. The first a place called Goldeneye in Jamaica, a retreat nestled among tropical forests and lush gardens. It was actually the house belonging to Ian Fleming who wrote all the Bond films. Built in the Fifties it has been modernised with an Oriental feel, very 007. The other place, in contrast, was minus 20 degrees, a hotel built of ice and snow in a village called Jukkasjarvi in Sweden. To get to the hotel we had to take a Dog Sled from Kiruna, when we arrived…with very cold noses….we were shooting models in their bikinis.

Describe your style
I would say ‘expensive teenager’.

Who is your Idol?
(NOTES TO READER: Hamilton replies without a hesitation) King Julian from Madagascar
